Don't Hold Your Breath: John Boehner Promising to Cut $4 Trillion in Government Spending

Congressman Billy Long is busy tweeting again today. It's no wonder he doesn't have time to read bills considering all the time he donates to retweeting John Boehner's worthless promises. Today, Long retweets John Boehner's promise the new House majority is going to cut federal spending by $4 trillion.

Republicans will present this week a 2012 budget proposal that would cut more than $4 trillion from federal spending projected over the next decade and transform the Medicare health program for the elderly, a move that will dramatically reshape the budget debate in Washington.

Isn't this the same group that promised us $100 billion in spending cuts and then delivered only $61 billion in cuts with a possible compromise with Democrats that will reduce it to $33 billion. I wouldn't hold my breath on this one; after all it was spineless Republicans like Billy Long who wouldn't vote against federally funding NASCAR teams despite a $14 trillion debt and claiming he was fed up with wasteful spending in Washington, DC.
