The Absurdity of John Boehner's Compromise with the Democrats: No Leadership From Speaker Boehner

If you want to know how absurd John Boehner's compromise with the Democrats on the budget was, look no further than the eight days before the compromise. What you will see is a total lack of leadership from the Speaker.

CNS news reports:

The federal debt increased $54.1 billion in the eight days preceding the deal made by President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) and House Speaker John Boehner (R.-Ohio) to cut $38.5 billion in federal spending for the remainder of fiscal year 2011, which runs through September.

The debt was $14.2101 trillion on March 30, according to the Bureau of the Public Debt, and $14.2642 on April 7.

Way to go Mr. Boehner! You are my hero. It will take government less than a week to spend the savings you brag about, and we are to believe you can get Paul Ryan's meager cuts of $500 billion per year done. I will not be holding my breath.
