We are over $14 trillion. Our debt ceiling has been nearly reached once again as Obama decided to launch an unconstitutional war against Libya. Does the United States have the money to fund a third war, especially when you consider the never-ending wars in Iraq and Afghanistan which will result in permanent occupation that have cost this country way over $1 trillion to fight. Eventually something is going to give.
Lew Rockwell, chairman of the U.S.-based Ludwig von Meezes Institute think tank, is a little more than worried about the United States starting a third war--or is that a Third World War as violence is now erupting in Israel and Iran could see another uprising, which Obama chose to ignore the first time, which has parallel plot lines to the situation in Libya. Rockwell clearly stated in an interview, the "US is broke, dollar down, yet policy is to divide & conquer." Clearly Rockwell believes America is getting involved in another long-term war, which will ruin our economy. Considering the massive debt, and the immediate high cost of Obama's war, I think we should be worried, especially considering the confusion as to what the goals are in Libya--protect civilians or nation build?
Rockwell says it's neither. This is about controlling Libyan oil, and I believe there has to be some truth in that. Isn't it sad that America would rather spill American blood by sending troops to Libya, rather than develop American oil within our borders and off our shores in American waters.
