Rumors continue to surround US Congressman Todd Akin. It is believed he will challenge Sarah Steelman, who may have an ethics controversy brewing over state records she might have left with possibly to cover up something in Jefferson City, and Ed Martin, who lost in November in his bid for Congress.
The Citizens United Political Action Committee has donated $10,000 to entice Akin to throw his name in the mix of Republicans ready to challenge Claire Mama Caskill. I am excited about this donation since Akin has distanced himself from the Republican establishment voting against TARP, bailouts, and other big government.
"We did it to encourage Congressman Akin to run for the United States Senate. With a 97.8 lifetime ACU rating, Congressman Akin would be a formidable candidate in the race to ground Air Claire," said Citizens United President David Bossie in a statement to POLITICO.
Considering the other two Republicans, Missouri needs Todd Akin, especially since the rumors of possible GOP challengers have started to fade a little.
