St. Louis, Missouri Takes Top Honor: Most Dangerous City in America

Just how bad do you have to be to be more dangerous than Detroit, MI, Oakland, CA, and Camden, New Jersey? It's just sad! I am told about what a great state Missouri is to raise a family, but here's another mark against it. It now has the honor of having the most dangerous city in American within its border.

The study by CQ Press found St. Louis had 2,070.1 violent crimes per 100,000 residents, compared with a national average of 429.4. That helped St. Louis beat out Camden, which topped last year's list and was the most dangerous city for 2003 and 2004.

These rankings are based on information released by the FBI.
