Bono in Tokyo in 2008:
My prayer is that we become better in looking after our planet.
U2 is in the middle of the World Tour. It's extravagance is raising the eyebrows of environmentalists everywhere, which Bono claims to be a member of. From the Melbourne, Australia newspaper:
U2’S 360 Degrees tour, the most expensive rock spectacle ever, is here. The tour, with a daily running cost of $850,000, arrived on six 747 jets…
“You compare a tour by the number of trucks they use,” production manager Jake Berry said. “The Rolling Stones ran 46 trucks. We are running 55. This is the biggest.”
Oh you have just got to laugh! It's a hypocritical contest for these guys.
