Through the Department of Homeland Security, we watch the Fourth Amendment under attack, barely breathing from the onslaught of federal abuse. NPR reports, believe it or not, that Obama by be getting ready to place the final dagger into the Fourth Amendment.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
From NPR:
It is starting to look like the president who campaigned on closing the prison at Guantanamo Bay may end up doing something wholly different: signing a law that would pave the way for terrorism suspects to be held indefinitely.
Administration officials are looking at the possibility at codifying detention without trial and are awaiting legislation that is supposed to come out of Congress early next year.
If you remember, one of the arguments Obama and other liberals made towards prisoners housed at GITMO is that we were violating their Constitutional rights. I am not sure what Constitutional rights enemies of the United States have, but this was an argument they made.
With that said, notice the key word here is terrorist. We know the Obama administration has expanded the definition of terrorist to include a long list of activities that freedom-loving Americans engage in. I believe this is something that we should watch very closely for the very real repercussions of what the fallout could me to real Americans the federal government wants to label terrorists.
