Branson's Tea Party Patriot HQ Were Asking for Donations as a For Profit Business: Be Sure to Ask Your Tax Preparer Before Making the Deduction

Tera Sukman's Tea Party Patriot HQ was listed as a for profit business with the Missouri Secretary of State's Office from July of this year until a few days ago. On their Web site, they asked for donations on their store page. This opens up another can of worms with the controversy surrounding the Tea Party Patriot HQ.

If you gave what you thought was a donation to the "Tea Party Patriot HQ" owned by Tera Sukman in downtown Branson before November 12th, you might want to check with your accountant as to your tax consequences before you file your 2010 tax return because it was listed as a FOR PROFIT business.

In the future, you may want to consider donating to a Tea Party that isn't influenced by the GOP and the neocons like the Tea Party Patriot HQ is. One of the criteria of supporting any Tea Party is to make sure their message is consistent with the Founding Fathers. You won't find much on the Tea Party Patriot Web site about the founders, but you will find a lot about George W. Bush, Abraham Lincoln, and you will even see the Star of David placed over the United States Constitution, which are obviously not Tea Party values. The Tea Party Patriot HQ in Branson supports neocon Republicans and not Constitutional conservatives.
