61 Seats Now: Update, Five More House Races to be Determined

Renee Ellmers is the 61st Republican pick up in the House of Representatives for the 2010 midterm elections. Bob Ethridge, her Democrat opponent in North Carolina finally conceded on Friday. So here is the update on the final five seats in the House still in play. From National Review:

Republicans Leading

New York 25th District

Republican Ann Marie Buerkle expanded her lead over Democratic Rep. Dan Maffei to 567. Only 200 challenged ballot remain to be counted.

Texas 27th District

Republican Blake Farenthold continues to lead Democratic Rep. Solomon Ortiz by nearly 800 votes. Local election officials continued their manual recount today.

Democrats Leading

New York 1st District

Democratic Rep. Tim Bishop currently holds a 15-vote lead over Republican Randy Altschuler. Local election officials are still counting absentee and provisional votes — to be completed by Wednesday at the earliest.

California 11th District

Democratic Rep. Jerry McNerney has a 1,700 vote-lead over Republican David Harmer, who has yet to concede.

California 20th District

Democratic Rep. Jim Costa holds a 2,422- vote lead over Republican Andy Vidak, who has yet to concede.
