No Record Yet of Billy Long Selling Auction House to Meet House Rules and Campaign Promise

I wonder why Josh from KZRG hasn't followed through with an interview with Billy Long from earlier in the campaign. KZRG morning man told Billy Long he didn't trust him and asked why should we trust Billy Long. Long went into this long winded reason that basically told Southwest Missouri I am making a sacrifice to go to Congress. Long said he was going to be forced to sell his auction house and his 1/3 share in Murney Associates.

Josh didn't follow up from what I have seen with his question as he had Long in earlier this week for an interview; however, Josh did celebrate a House coin designed for children that Long gave him.

So what is the status of Billy Long's sacrifice? It's been almost three months since Long went to Congress. The name on the front door has obviously changed, since www.billylong.com, which once took you to Billy Long Auctions now directs you to Bob Kollmeier Auctions. To get an answer, we went to the Secretary of State's Web site where we looked up the business registrations in the state of Missouri. Now I understand government isn't efficient on any level, but one would think, considering how old the news story is of Long parting with his life's work for a two-year gig in Congress, there would be some evidence of the exchange on the Missouri Secretary of State's Web site, right?

As of today, there is no record that Bob Kollmeier purchased the auction house from Billy Long. Not that doesn't mean the transaction didn't happen. I might be under a fictitious business name, but at the same time the site shows no evidence that Billy Long followed through with his promise to sell the auction business and his 1/3 share in Murney other than the name change on the door. That my friends is as simple as getting a little paint and razor blade. A name change doesn't always constitute a change in ownership.

A search for Billy Long Auctions on the site still shows the business as active. Why is that?

Getting to Billy Long's 1/3 interest in Murney, there is nothing on the Internet that suggest Billy Long has made any effort in selling his 1/3 interest in Murney Associates.

Now Billy Long made us a promise, a promise of sacrifice, but it doesn't seem, as he is now well into his two-year term, that Long has done much sacrificing.
