North Carolina Wants $461 Million to Save 13 Minutes of Time

Obama's high-speed rail has already sparked controversy. If you want to look at cost vs. efficiency, I believe the federal money going to speed the North Carolina tracks is the perfect place to look. State officials in North Carolina are looking to the American taxpayer to improve their railroad passenger services in the state. They want your tax dollars to build faster trains like Dear Leader Obama has called for.

They have requested $461 million in federal grants to improve train service--now get this--by a mere 13 minutes. That's right, if North Carolina gets the federal money, the train will be 13 minutes faster from Charlotte to Raleigh, a three-hour train ride.

Could the other 49 stand up and give a bird to North Carolina for this messed up thinking, especially when the economy has tanked and the federal debt is crushing economic growth? Fortunately, republicans on the state level plan to vote to repeal any federal aid they receive for the project.

You know, once you get below the federal level of the Republican party, the party really isn't that bad.
