Only a party hack like Sarah Steelman can sit and continue the lie about Billy Long and the Republicans lack of effort to make any serious budget cuts to the federal government. On March 18, Steelman tweeted from her iPhone:

Billy Long standing firm on cuts? Are you serious Sarah? I mean I went through HR1 and its amendments and Billy Long didn't propose one cut to the federal budget. Then when you look at his votes on the amendments, you see how uninterested Long was in making significant cuts to the federal budget. He decided to continue federal funding for NASCAR teams that have totaled over $100 million in the last decade, and will total nearly $30 million just this year alone.
It is because of the lack of a backbone by most Republicans in the House to cut this kind of spending, that Republicans failed to meet the $100 billion promised when they proposed HR1. How much did they get cut Ms. Steelman? $61 billion? Well in my book that is a D- grade and not worthy of any accolades for any Republican sitting in Congress right now.
I don't know what planet you live on Ms. Steelman, but this tweet tells me you aren't serious about cutting the federal budget either if you think Billy Long deserves some kind of accolade for his lack of effort to cut the federal budget.
