Hiking Rockbridge, Hocking Hills, OH: Waterfall Behind a Natural Bridge

I am in the foothills of the Appalachians this week before heading back out the Great Smoky Mountains, enjoying Hocking Hills, Ohio. Located away from most of the main features of the Hocking Hills area is Rockbridge, a large natural bridge that has a beautiful waterfall behind it.

Now while the hike is short--just over a mile to get to the rock bridge--it can be a challenge with some steep grades and lots of mud. Since the best time to view waterfalls is during wet weather, well I know from experience you can go down quickly on the muddy trails of Rockbridge; although, I have an excuse. The little white and tan dog who lives on an adjacent farm and walks along the trail was awfully cute and got my mind off of where I was stepping. Thank goodness I brought an extra poncho to keep my car seats nice and clean. My blue jeans were a nice shade of brown for much of the day.

Here are some videos and pictures from the hike to Rockbridge.

Walk with caution.
