About the only thing Billy Long didn't tweet this week was confirmation that he did indeed wear his cowboy hat in the freshman photo. Maybe there is a good reason for that. Billy Long who said he was fed up with Washington and career politicians did everything he could to center himself around the Washington DC career politician culture, but in the end it was Republican Frederica Wilson (R-Florida) that stole Billy Long's thunder.
Yes, he wore the hat. No, he didn't stand out. Wilson's red cowboy hat made a statement, while Long just bit his tongue and reminded himself not to tell one of those jokes he is known for in the back rooms of the auction house and restaurants. My oh my didn't Wilson show Long up.
As you can see with the official freshman class photo, Wilson is easy to spot. You really have to look harder for Billy.
Of course, none of these pictures really mean anything when you consider the first picture Billy Long sent home for the folks back home to see.
