How do you think the Obama administration is going to spin the economy when the reality of high gas prices clearly show there is no recovery? Perhaps, he will make sure every loony economist on his side promotes this crazy idea that higher gas prices are a symbol of recovery and a stronger economy. Have you heard this one before? I am sure you will hear it in coming weeks as these higher gas prices force higher prices elsewhere and further cripple the economy.
In the last two weeks, gas prices have risen on average 33 cents. It's the second largest increase on record--and we aren't even to peak driving season or the formulation changes coming at the end of the month, which drives up costs more.
Here's something to consider. Remember in 2008, when gas prices helped slow the economy by hitting $4 a gallon and more? The highest rise in a two-week span wasn't during 2008. It was in 2005 during Hurricane Katrina, which shows just how bad it could get this year. We may wish we were paying 2008 gas prices before it's all over.
