The Federal Government Bailed McDonald's and Harley Davison Out

It's not just GM and Chrysler who got huge bailouts. In fact, Ford, who claims they escaped having to take bailouts, actually took bailouts. They took bailouts through their credit issuing bank. It turns out many more American companies were bailed out as well.

The Fed bought $203 million of McDonald's (MCD) commercial paper. $1.48 billion of Verizon's (VZ). And $2.3 billion of Harley-Davidson's (HOG). Perhaps McDonald's and Verizon, both with hundreds of thousands of employees, were deemed systemically important, but Harley-Davidson and its 7,300 employees?
