Thank goodness there are a few Republicans who realize Obama is packaging Stimulus III or IV into this bargain to extend the Bush tax cuts. It's being reported that Obama's deal will increase deficit spending by over $700 billion just to save the Bush tax cuts, something that will come back and bite the GOP in two years. It turns out Senator Jim DeMint isn't willing to sacrifice any credibility the GOP has going into this new Congress.
He told Hugh Hewitt yesterday that he would not support any deal with Obama.
Senator Jim DeMint just announced on my program that he will oppose the deal as well as a vote for cloture on the deal. He is reluctant to criticize GOP Senate leadership, but believes the deal at a minimum has to be paid for, and that we need “a permanent economy” not a temporary one as well as permanent tax cuts, not temporary tax cuts.
