Obama's Of Thee I Sing Promotes Abraham Lincoln, a Man Who Didn't Care About Slavery

Barack Obama's new book for children was released just in time for the holidays. Just after the presidential election, it was revealed Obama was paid a hefty sum to write the book. Now that book is out in hopes you will stuff stockings with this junk. Yeah, while he was further destroying America, he hoped to put a smile on your kid's face before bed time.

I noticed this stand at a Hastings store in Joplin Missouri as I was picking up my PS3 version of Beatles Rock Band. I quickly noticed how little Obama understands American history once again as he props up Abraham Lincoln, perhaps one of our worst Presidents for his violation of the Constitution if it wasn't for Obama surpassing him on that honor.

As history was rewritten to celebrate Lincoln while ignoring many of his words and attitudes towards slavery, it appears Barack Obama has bought into this revision of Lincoln as well.

From Lincoln's Inaugural Address:

Apprehension seems to exist among the people of the Southern States that by the accession of a Republican Administration their property and their peace and personal security are to be endangered. There has never been any reasonable cause for such apprehension. Indeed, the most ample evidence to the contrary has all the while existed and been open to their inspection. It is found in nearly all the published speeches of him who now addresses you. I do but quote from one of those speeches when I declare that—

I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery in the States where it exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so.

From Lincoln's letter to Horace Greeley:

I would save the Union. I would save it the shortest way under the Constitution. The sooner the national authority can be restored; the nearer the Union will be "the Union as it was." If there be those who would not save the Union, unless they could at the same time save slavery, I do not agree with them. If there be those who would not save the Union unless they could at the same time destroy slavery, I do not agree with them. My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery.

Not really the happy story we are taught in history class, and yet Obama seems to continue to identify with Lincoln. Perhaps, it was Lincoln's disregard for the 10th Amendment, the First Amendment, and due process that Obama celebrates.
