Deals Were Made to Keep Sarah Steelman Out of the 2010 Senate Race Against Blunt

Sarah Steelman is running as the anti-establishment maverick in the 2012 US Senate race for the seat held by Claire McCaskill. It's becoming more obvious, this maverick made a deal with the establishment some time before the official start of the 2010 primary season in order to protect incoming US Senator Roy Blunt.

We are learning from Reboot Congress that Steelman has already been promised the support of the establishment she claims to be up against.

...the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has apparently promised Steelman that it would not endorse Talent.

The National Journal writes, "Second, the NRSC is showing a newfound interest in Steelman, a Tea Party favorite, who it shunned last year in favor of Roy Blunt."

It's becoming more clear why Steelman sat on the fence in 2009-10 painfully prolonging her decision to run for Senate. She obviously chose to play the establishment's game, and she is truly the "who's next in line" candidate, wheeling and dealing to get her place in line. Some maverick, right? Tea Partiers are you going to make another deal with the establishment in 2012?
