There were 54 Republicans who broke ranks with the new joke of a Speaker John Boehner and his meager spending cuts to ensure the government doesn't shut down. While I wouldn't call any of these 54 heroes based on some of their past votes that propped Boehner up and went against the Constitution, this is at least a start.
Consider the truth of Boehner's ill thought plan that basically compromised the position and strengths gained from the 2010 midterm elections. I can't say it any better than CNS News.
The national debt jumped by $72 billion on Tuesday even as the Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives passed a continuing resolution to fund the government for just three weeks that will cut $6 billion from government spending.
If Congress were to cut $6 billion every three weeks for the next 36 weeks, it would manage to save between now and late November as much money as the Treasury added to the nation’s net debt during just the business hours of Tuesday, March 15.
So the Boehner led Congress will continue to fee the federal leviathan with money it doesn't have. Boehner has put Republicans on course for big defeats in 2012, and if things don't change quickly with this idiot's inability to lead, rather than worry about what the press is going to say about J.B. when the government shut down occurs, Boehner's tenure as Speaker will be one of the shortest in history. In fact, I think it's time we demand he step down from the position.
