Hiking the Cantwell Cliffs of Hocking Hills, OH

The Cantwell Cliffs are part of Hocking Hills State Forest in Ohio. They are located about an hour southeast of Columbus. While the cliffs are nearly as impressive as Conkle's Hollow, located in the same forest, they are safer to hike and beautiful none-the-less.

Small streams flowing over the cliffs produce some small waterfalls that drop around 100 feet, and during a good rain probably give new life to these cliffs.

Hiking isn't too hard, although you best be ready to climb lots of steps if you choose to hike below the cliffs. Overall, there is about three miles of hiking in the Cantwell Cliffs that take you out and away from the cliffs, so unlike Conkle's Hollow, you aren't going to be navigating cliffs, which may make this a better hike for those who much overcome their fear of heights.
